John S. Anastasi works written for the stage include In My Father’s Eyes, a play with music, produced at the Forum Theater (New Jersey) and the historic Mishler Theater (Altoona, PA). Music by David Friedman. It was selected as an alternate at the New York Fringe Festival summer 2003. Stolen Lives, a two character drama, presented at the Acorn Theater at Theatre Row after being presented at the Mishler Theater. Pied a Terre enjoyed a successful off Broadway premiere at the Kirk Theater at Theatre Row in 2007. Since being published by Samuel French in 2008, Pied a Terre has been produced at the Cork Theatre in Ireland and has been fully translated to Chinese and produced at the Shanghai Grand Theatre in China as well as multiple cities in China. Pied a Terre has been optioned for a Broadway production in the near future. I Forgive You, Ronald Reagan was produced off Broadway at the Beckett Theatre in Manhattan in Summer 2013. It has been recently published by Dramatic Publishing of Chicago. Transition was presented as stage readings at the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre and the 5th Wall Theatre/Richmond Triangle Players in Richmond Virginia and a full production and finalist in the Venous Adonis Festival in 2013. Transition was renamed, Would You Still Love Me IF and was produced off Broadway at New World Stages directed and starring Kathleen Turner in 2015 as well as the Underbite Theatre Company in November of 2015. The playwright is an active member of the Dramatist Guild of America Inc.
Chasing Jack tells the story of Dr. Jack Chase, a surgeon with a serious gambling addiction. Through the lens of a malpractice lawsuit that could end his career. Chasing Jack explores familial relationships, medical ethics and the potentially crippling effects of addiction. The malpractice lawsuit brings together friends, estranged family members and lovers in a striking concoction of personalities that have all been effected by Jack. The stakes couldn’t be any higher as Jack looks back at every pivotal moment in his career, some uplifting and others utterly devastating, but all riveting pieces of the puzzle that is Dr. Jack Chase will be portrayed by daytime TV star of One Life To Live and General Hospital, James Depaiva.
Chasing Jack is a site Specific Medical Courtroom Drama that will be playing at Fordam University Moot Court for a limited run! Audience members can sit in the General Courtroom Gallery for $20 or be closer in the Jury Box for $25 and be part of the action! The limited engagement plays Thursday, October 5 at 7pm, Friday, October 6 at 3pm & 7pm, Saturday, October 7 at 3pm & 8pm and Sunday, October 8 at 3pm only at the Gorman Moot Court at Fordham University, 150 West 62nd Street.
