Meet The Playwrights of Winterfest: Ken Bravo Knowledge is Power
Ken Bravo

Ken Bravo

Ken Bravo was born in the Lower East Side about 50 years ago. He grew up in an area that was the melting pot of New York City. Some may even say the world. Involved in many aspects of the entertainment business, he can honestly say he has done it all. Educated in Musical Theater and the performing arts, he took his experiences and wrote a musical. He based his characters on real life persons. All he wants is for the world to laugh and enjoy what is Papo’s Variety Store.

In Papo’s Variety Store it is a day in the life of a city block in the Lower East Side in the summer of 1976. An example of how time can affect love and love can affect time. A whimsical look at what life was as a Hispanic business owner with 3 girlfriends and his gay best friend with a fusion of Broadway and Latin Music! My cast includes John Trujillo, Pura Cruz, Vincent Ford and John Cencio Burgos.
