Last Sunday afternoon, legendary comedian Mel Brooks took to the stage of New Jersey Performing Arts Center after a screening of his outrageously funny film Young Frankenstein. Brooks entertained adoring fans with his inside look at his long outstanding career and making of this comedy masterpiece. Brooks has won an Emmy, a Grammy, and Oscar and a Tony that has made him one of the greatest American Entertainers. In 2009, Brooks received The Kennedy Center Honors, recognizing his lifetime of extraordinary contributions to American culture. In 2013, Brooks was the 41st recipient of the AFI Life Achievement Award and the subject of the Emmy Award winning American Maters documentary on PBS, Mel Brooks: Make a Noise.
Magda Katz has been in the entertainment world for most of her life as a child actress, assistant to the head publicist of Avco Embassy Pictures, theatrical print agent. She went on to manage the show business career of her 2 children for over 15 years. For the last five years Magda has been filming and editing video trailers of live performances as well as celebrity interviews. Broadway After Dark was the first website to feature her video trailers. She contributed in creating a star studded 90th birthday party for Mickey Rooney at Feinstein’s at the Regency Hotel.
