MvVO Art Launches AD ART SHOW
My View: Jason Robert Brown in Concert at Barrington Stage Co.

Barrington Stage Co. had one of the concert and Cabaret world’s most exciting and mesmerizing  performers on it’s MainStage last night.  They also had a mult-award-winning composer, lyricist, arranger, orchestrator, director, virtuoso pianist, humorist and humanitarian on that same stage.  Jason Robert Brown one of the most gifted individuals ever to inhabit the world of musical theater returned to the award winning theater in Pittsfield, Ma. in concert.

Maybe it was, “Beshert” ( Yiddish “Destiny”) that only last week Stephen Sondheim and Jason Robert Brown were on the same stage at Town Hall in NYC and now Jason was appearing on the dark Monday night stage on which Barrington’s production of Sondheim’s  Into The Woods is currently running.

Jason”s Town Hall Concert was an historic event and anyone who was fortunate to attend will forever be saying “ I was there”. Students from the Barrington’s Musical Theater Conservatory joined Jason for one of the evenings songs and the excited look on their faces expressed the thrill they were having being on the same stage with Jason.

JRB performed songs from his shows while humorously pointing out that none of those shows have been presented at Barrington Stage Co.

I’m sure Barrington Stage Co’s. audience will be remembering this night with Jason and saying “we were there”.
