My View: Maestro Steven Reineke Rehearses The New York Pops Orchestra For The Opening Night Concert
The open rehearsals for The New York Pops are also sell outs and this afternoon was no different as Maestro and music director Steven Reineke rehearsed the orchestra and soloists for the opening night concert. It’s a spectacular celebration of the orchestra’s 35th season and the centennial of founder Skitch Henderson’s birth. The concert will feature music ranging from Tin Pan Alley to today. Reineke will lead Matt Doyle (Spring Awakening, Bye Bye Birde, The Book of Mormon) and (The Phantom of the Opera, The King and I, Les Miserables) in some of his favorite songs of all time, paired with some Skitch Henderson classics and as always, a few surprises.
