My View: The MAC Awards May Have To Be Held In A Hotel Next Year

Cabaret
The 30th Annual MAC Award Show seems to have it’s sights set on The Metropolitan Room’s Annual Cabaret Marathon. From sound check to after party finish it’s approaching the half day mark. If future shows last any longer they might have to offer an hotel room along with the show ticket. However, when something is good you can’t get enough of it and this was a evening full of wonderful singing, great music, great wit, and some great inspirational moments. My personal highlights were hearing a performance by Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Amanda McBroom (Michele Brourman, piano), hearing David Friedman talk about Nancy LaMott, and watching friend Jamie deRoy & friends receive the Ruth Kurtzman Benefit Award for of her efforts to provide health care via the Actors Fund for the Cabaret Community…..Bernie Furshpan watch out – MAC is approaching.
