Those were the opening words of David Zippel’s eulogy at Nancy LaMott’s memorial service in 1996. He continued, “Nancy’s sweetness, warmth, keen intelligence, compassion, mischievous, wit, honesty, sparkling sense of humor and remarkable good tase informed every note she sang. It is these very same qualities that make it easy for me to say that there has never been (and there probably never will be) a better friend than Nancy.”
