My View: There Is Something New At Birdland

My View: There Is Something New At Birdland

She’s a beauty, great curves and sounds like some of the best I’ve ever heard. A brand new Yamaha C7 concert grand piano was delivered to Birdland yesterday morning. At 7PM last night the Broadway at Birdland Series presented 3 wonderful pianist/singers in a show called Piano Men who gave it it’s first work out. The Piano Men were: Eric Yves Garcia, Matt Baker, and Brad Simmons. John McDaniel, another great piano man and music director put the 6 hands together at The O’Neill Cabaret Conference last summer and directed the presentation. It was a night of 3 talented pianists, different styles, and an evening of music that could only happen on the stage of “The Jazz Corner Of The World”. Piano Man Billy Joel wasn’t in the room but his music sure was.
