New Broadway and Food Talk Show debuts on NYC Radio

Valerie Smaldone

5-time Billboard Award winning radio host Valerie Smaldone is returning to the New York City airwaves to host and produce a unique weekly talk show focused on her two passions: theatre and food.

Launching on July 7 at 9 AM on AM970, Smaldone’s new show, “Bagels and Broadway with Valerie Smaldone” will feature conversations with Broadway celebrities, creative teams, producers who work passionately to bring shows to the stage, and the numerous un-sung heroes who are integral to mounting a production. Since dining out and attending the theatre go hand-in-hand, there will be restaurant and food segments as well. A native New Yorker who was born, raised, educated and spent her entire career in New York, Valerie Smaldone knows the New York area. On “Bagels and Broadway” she will follow up on her “Valerie’s New York” program, which aired on, and talk about her latest finds, out-of-the way places that need to be in the spotlight, and trips to her favorite haunts.

You’ll hear her discussing the show she attended last night on or off-Broadway, or where she had tapas, antipasto or mezze with a glass of phenomenal wine (from a country you didn’t even know produced wine!)

Valerie will also concentrate on other theatrical venues: including in New Jersey, off-Broadway or non-traditional theatre spaces. Each radio show will be made into a podcast and posted on and on iHeart Radio.
