Scott Zaleski, 40, tried to take firearms from the holsters of two uniformed officers at West 37th Street and Broadway about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The man failed, so he ran down to West 36th Street where he targeted another cop. This officer managed to placed Zaleski in custody. He appeared to be high on drugs and was taken to Bellevue Hospital. Cops charged the Seattle, Washington resident with assault and robbery. Zaleski, was visiting friends in New York, couldn’t remember anything after going to the trippy jam band’s Madison Square Garden gig, said his lawyer, Robert Kelly. “He had no intention of causing harm to anyone and apologizes to the NYPD,” Kelly said. “He feels terrible, embarrassed, he had no recollection.” He was ordered released on his own recognizance Sunday night.
