Origin’s 1st Irish Festival 2019 Starts January 9th, 2018

Celebrating its 11th anniversary The 2019 Origin 1st Irish Festival runs from January 9th to 28th, 2019. As New York’s only month-long theatre festival this series exclusively devotes time and energy to presenting contemporary plays from the Irish island.

With 15 events in total, the Festival takes place in a number of distinguished venues across New York City representing 15 contemporary Irish writers and six mainstage productions originating from Belfast, Derry, Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Queens and Manhattan.

Heralded by The New York Times as “an important event that offers New York theatergoers the chance to see fascinating new work,” the Origin 1st Irish Festival offers an incredibly diverse set of voices and views to be explored.

A previous festival production that won accolades and serious attention was playwright Enda Walsh’s “Disco Pigs” — a bizarre mix of song, dance, and strange proclamations.

“Alone is Stands”

Jan 10 – Jan 27
