Paper Mill Playhouse brings Mel Brooks’ award-winning comic musical masterpiece The Producers back for a second look. The show took Broadway by storm in 2001, winning a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards and three Olivier Awards.
The cast of Paper Mill Playhouse’s production met the press to preview the show. Michael Kostroff (Max Bialystock), David Josefsberg (Leo Blum) and Ashley Spencer (Ulla) head the cast of the Mel Brooks (book, music, lyrics) musical. Kevin Pariseau as Roger De Bris, Mark Price as Carmen Ghia and John Treacy Egan as Franz Liebkind also have featured roles. Rounding out the ensemble are Jacob ben Widmar, Michael Biren, Courtney Brady, Tim Capodice, Jesse Carrey-Beaver, Scott Cote, Madeleine Doherty, Hannah Flam, Brad Frenette, John Jeffords, Jeffrey Johnson II, Naomi Kakuk, Jenny Laroche, Liz McKendry, Kelly Peterson, Emily Jeanne Phillips, Jessica Sheridan and Kate Wesler.
We watched performances of “The King of Broadway,” “When You’ve Got It, Flaunt It” and “I Wanna Ba a Producer.”
Don Stephenson directs, music director is James P. Moore, original scenic designer Robin Wagner, scenic coordinator David Peterson, original costume designer William Ivey Long, costume coordinator Martha Bromelmeier, lighting designer John Lasiter, sound designer Randy Hansen, hair and wig designer Paul Huntley and makeup designer Angelina Avallone, with casting by Telsey + Company.
Performances begin September 28th and the show runs until October 23rd
