The Pod Hotels opened its flagship location in Times Square on January 23rd. This 28-story hotel, located at the intersection of 42nd Street and Ninth Avenue, is one of  five locations, by BD Hotels (The Mercer, The Marlton, The Bowery, The Maritime, The Greenwich), . In addition to its hotel rooms, Pod Times Square will also have 45 apartments that will be available for short-term and long-term leasing.

          These 45 “Pod Pads” are between 600 to 800 square feet, and residents will have access to a fitness center and a guest lounge located on the top floor of the building. As you enter there is a  60-foot-tall vestibule made      entirely of glass. A glass enclosed elevator takes you to the third-floor lobby. A mural by Brooklyn native artist JM Rizzi, catches your eye.

Overall, Pod Times Square will have 665 rooms (in addition to the apartments). You can choose between a bunk bed or a queen bed with each room measuring about 115 square feet. Nightly rates at Pod Hotels start at $75.

Secrets of Times Square

Suzanna, co-owns and publishes the newspaper Times Square Chronicles or T2C. At one point a working actress, she has performed in numerous productions in film, TV, cabaret, opera and theatre. She has performed at The New Orleans Jazz festival, The United Nations and Carnegie Hall. She has a screenplay and a TV show in the works, which she developed with her mentor and friend the late Arthur Herzog.
