Read this to Find out Why Your Choice of Contractor Matters

Nobody wants a drab-looking home. Many homeowners try as muchas their pockets can allow to maketheir homes look pleasant and welcoming both inside and outside. While DIYs are fun and can save a homeowner a lot of money, painting the exterior would be best done by a professional.
Painting contractors are experts in this field. Not only have they undergone training or apprenticeship, but they have also done it a tonne of times, and thatexperience counts for a lot. If the exterior of your home needs a fresh coat of paint, hire a professional to do it. The professional will be accompanied by their staff, and the job will therefore be done efficiently and fast.
The professionals will also:
- Have gone throughsome safety procedures.
- Have the right equipment for the job, for example, if they need to get up high, they can easily do that with special equipment.
- Have their own insurance. Therefore, should any accidents happen while they work on your home, you will not be held accountable.
- Recommend the best kind of paint for your exterior. They will know which one to go forbased on the climate and building material.
What YouShould Do
Pricing: You should ensure that you have an estimate of how much the whole project will cost you. That way, getting a quote from the contractor will be easier, and you will not be caught by surprise. You will need to buy paint and any accompanying products like brushes, as well as factor in labour. Work with your contractor to work out how much paint you will need. Other factors to consider in costing include:
- Daily rates.
- The size of the property.
- Special design features.
- The paint finishes you will need.
Timing: Painting the outside of your house during the rainy season is not practical as the paint might get washed off. Painting during winter or summer does not quite cut it either. The best seasons to paint the exterior of your house are spring and fall. However, if it threatens to rain, abort missionand reschedule.
- Know your contractor: It is always a good idea to get at least three bids from different contractors before you settle on one. This way, you will be able to compare and get thebest in terms of service and cost. Also, ask the right questions:
- Are they properly licensed?
- Do they have insurance?
- Do they outsource?
- Do they offer written guarantees?
Who is a good contractor?
- They know their
- They recommend high-quality
- They value quality work over speed.
- They respond in good time and communicate when the need arises.
- They turn up to work on time.
- They respect the client’s choice even when they don’t quite agree.
Be careful not to pick the wrong contractor. If they are not insured or their reputation is not exactly rosy, you might want to move on to the next one. The wrong contractor will give exorbitant estimates, may not be insured, and may not turn up on time. They may also buy cheaper products to get extra money. That is the kind that you want to avoid.
Working witha contractor who is professional and has integrity will leave you with little to worry about as all you have to do is make sure you have the finances at hand. Paying for the best service from the best painter leaves the client with a sense of accomplishment

Rosie O’Grady’s To Shut Down

COVID takes down another victim. Rosie O’Grady’s, located on 7th Avenue and West 52nd Street along with its event space, Manhattan Manor, will shut its doors on July 1st. For over 43 years the steak and seafood restaurant was a favorite of theatre goers. Owner Mike Carty rent of over $3 million per year as a significant burden has made it impossible to sustain business operations. Carty’s has also made it clear that he plans to re-open the establishment somewhere else.
Neil Diamond, who was a customer for over two decades, stated “It honestly broke my heart.”
SL Green and Carty had been in a rent dispute that went to arbitration. The panel ruled in SL Green’s favor, who plans on seeking another tenant for the space.

How To Help Your Adult Children

As parents, your main job is to support your children and help them grow into happy, healthy, successful adults. You do this by providing guidance, advice, and practical things like food, clothing, and shelter. You’ll also do this by giving them love and letting them know you’re there for them.
None of this changes just because they get older, and although parents would hope their adult children are equipped with all the knowledge they need to live their own lives well, sometimes they will be faced with challenges, and it could be that the parents need to be there to help them. With that in mind, here are some of the best ways to help your adult children.
Have Open Communication
One of the very best things parents can do for their children at any age, and certainly as they grow into adults, is to make sure the children are aware they can talk to the parents about anything and everything. Keep your communication channels open at all times. Ensuring that you can both have frank and honest discussions about whatever it is you need to talk about is vital. When your child talks to you, make sure you don’t judge and listen carefully before offering advice.
If you can have these open communication channels, your adult child is more likely to come to you when they have a problem, whether it’s something serious like needing drink driving solicitors or something smaller like wanting some dating advice. After all, you can only help if you know what the issue is in the first place.
Financial Guidance
One of the biggest issues many adults have is linked to money. Once they start earning money, it can be hard to deal with it responsibly, especially if they have no major bills to pay and they are still living at home. However, this is a bad habit to get into, and it can lead to some big problems in life. Debt can be debilitating, and it’s an easy thing to get into.
This is why you should offer financial guidance to your adult children. Give them practical help when it comes to budgeting and saving and ensure they understand how to build a strong foundation for their future.
It might be that your adult children have some financial problems and need some help. How you handle this will be your choice, but if you decide to loan them money, make sure you have a proper agreement in place and ensure they pay you back – this will help them be more responsible and help you financially too.
Encourage Independence
It’s hard to let children grow up and be their own person; as a parent, you’ll always want to guide them, and you might have ideas about what they should or should not be doing. When they are children, you can have your say and do things to stop certain behavior or encourage it. However, when your children are adults, you no longer have such control, and that’s a good thing – your children need to learn how to be independent.
To help with this, you need to be encouraging about their choices and help them only when they ask you to. It’s important that they work things out independently and learn from their mistakes, but they also need to know you are there for them when they need you.
