New on the scene is Southampton’s Blu Mar. Located at 136 Main Street is an eatery that stands above the rest and shines with a radiant rating.

The luminous venue takes you into a relaxing setting that is stylish and full of vibrant, colorful artwork. The paintings surround comfortable seating. The walls are as bright as the smiles of the staff when you enter the premises.

Masterful Chef Terrence Brennan, whose famed Picholine received a Michelin star, has opened up this coastal Mediterranean spot. The buzz over the destination is strong and his artful work is to be applauded in rounds of boisterous sounds.

There are many delights at the restaurant to satisfy your seafood cravings and make any foodie’s dreams come true.  Crudos such as Liver Diver Sea Scallop with Pernod sauce and charred cauliflower puree start a meal off right. There is also a divine caviar service and mezze to share such as Fried Calamari with spicy tomato sauce.

Many appetizers will please the senses including selections such as a Greek Salad with a watermelon twist, Grilled Spanish Octopus La Galicia with fingerling potatoes, and a superb Maryland Soft Shell Crab with roasted Dutch potatoes and a unique jalapeno tartar.

Entrees are vast. Not to be missed are the fishes including Fluke, Spanish Turbot, Branzino, and Black Sea Bass. They are all delivered daily and sold by the pound at market price.

In addition to traditional seafood offerings, Chef Brennan is also bringing his skills to shake things up with pasta selections. The Linguini with Lobster served with sweet carrots, zucchini, cherry tomatoes and a touch of cream rivals any of the top Italian restaurants in the city. The creation is a dive into the land of excellence.
