Sensible Socialite – Fun Summer Times

Sensible Socialite – Fun Summer Times

It’s been a busy summer full of great events and happenings.

People have been busy having relaxing drinks at rooftop bars, such as at Cantina Rooftop. It features a climate-controlled retractable glass rooftop with a retractable roof makes it possible to enjoy cocktails and dinner rain or shine.

They are also headed to big events. Over 1,400 whiskey and barbecue lovers filled the Brooklyn Expo Center on Saturday, July 9th for the inaugural Whiskey Fried Classic. The creators of the highly-acclaimed Bacon and Beer Classic, Cannonball Productions, launched this new, all-inclusive food and beverage festival, which will make its way across the country in the coming months.

In Coney Island, the ultimate summertime destination got even better with the Summer Series at Luna Park. Running through September 4th, Luna Park, New York City’s largest amusement park, will host a series of special events and electric performances. The series will feature pop up concerts, parties and activities that spotlight Brooklyn and NYC based or born artists and performers. Next up is July 17:  Ellise Gitas, 4 p.m. and July 23: Magician Gary the Great, 5 p.m.

“The Summer Series is just one of the ways Luna Park celebrates the immense talent of our community,” said Alberto Zamperla, President of Zamperla Group and operator of Luna Park. “By creating and hosting such impressive and entertaining programming, we have the opportunity to not only showcase this local talent, but to also enhance the experience of our visitors this 2016 Summer Season.”

Out in Southampton, VIP guests enjoyed a private cocktail reception to celebrate Resident Magazine’s July cover stars Stem Cell Guru Dr. Christopher Calapai and Real Housewives of New York star, Ramona Singer at hotspot Kozu. The event featured wines from Lila Wines, sparkling wine from Rotari Trentodoc and cocktails from 50 Bleu Ultra Premium Vodka.

And, today in the Hamptons at Dan’s Taste of Two Forks Executive Chef Braulio Industry Kitchen is competing in the NYC Chefs vs. Hamptons Chefs.  We hear there will be an amazing Cauliflower Steak – that’s right steak made out of veggies. This healthy seasonal summer dish is one of Industry Kitchen’s more popular items and is served as either an entrée or as a side dish which guarantees to satisfy the palate of any vegetarian or meat lover alike.
