Shark Tank’s Barbara Corcoran at The Town Hall Tonight

Barbara Corcoran is an American businesswoman, investor, speaker, consultant, syndicated columnist, author, and television personality. She began her career in the 1970s with real estate, then became a television personality as a “Shark” investor on ABC’s Shark Tank.

In 1973 co-founded a real estate business called The Corcoran-Simonè with her boyfriend, who contributed a $1,000 loan (approximately $5,685.56, inflation-adjusted, 2018). When she split from her boyfriend, she formed her own firm, The Corcoran Group. In the mid-1970s she also began publishing The Corcoran Report covering real estate data trends in New York City.

In 2001, Corcoran sold her business to NRT Incorporated for $66 million[She is also a “Shark” investor on ABC’s Shark Tank, and is invested in more than twenty businesses to date.

Barbara is a columnist for More MagazineThe Daily Review, and Redbook. She has written several books, and has been featured in various shows. She is also the real estate contributor to NBC’s Today show, hosts The Millionaire Broker with Barbara Corcoran on CNBC, and writes a weekly column in the New York Daily News.

Barbara will share motivational advice on how she succeeded in business, the financial tips she wished her 20-year-old self had known and how her sense of curiosity has fueled her financial literacy. Suzanna, co-owns and publishes the newspaper Times Square Chronicles or T2C. At one point a working actress, she has performed in numerous productions in film, TV, cabaret, opera and theatre. She has performed at The New Orleans Jazz festival, The United Nations and Carnegie Hall. She has a screenplay and a TV show in the works, which she developed with her mentor and friend the late Arthur Herzog.
