Stephen Schwartz’s 70th Birthday Concert

Stephen Schwartz’s 70th Birthday Concert

Join the Dramatists Guild Foundation on April 23 at the Hudson Theatre as we celebrate Stephen Schwartz’s 70th Birthday with a star-filled concert dedicated to Stephen and his beloved songs, stories, and legacy. Watch as Broadway’s best toast Stephen for his commitment to the craft and the community with show stopping performances from across his four-decade repertory of songs.

Directed by Scott Schwartz with music direction by Andrew Lippa, the concert will include special performances by Tony, Grammy and Academy Award-winning composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land, The Greatest Showman), Tony Award-winner Patina Miller (Pippin, Sister Act), Darren Criss (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Lindsay Mendez (Carousel, Wicked, Godspell), Alex Newell (Once On This Island, Glee), Michael McCorry Rose (Wicked, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder), Corey Cott (Bandstand, Newsies, Gigi), Casey Cott (Riverdale), and more to be announced.

This is the debut of the new concert series, DGF: Toasts, honoring the life and work of American theater’s greatest writers. Proceeds from the concert go to supporting the Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) a national charity that fuels the future of American theater by supporting the writers who create it. The Dramatists Guild Foundation fosters playwrights, composers, lyricists, and bookwriters at all stages of their careers. DGF sponsors educational programs; provides awards, grants, and stipends; offers free space to create new works; and gives emergency aid to writers in need. For more information about dgf, please visit dgf.org.

DGF:Toasts is sponsored in part by Ambassador Theatre Group and Hudson Theatre.
