Stephen Sorokoff – My View: They’re Great Again

Stephen Sorokoff – My View: They’re Great Again

Christine Ebersole & Billy Stritch

I was thinking as they started off singing “It’s Us Again” that the problem with Christine Ebersole and Billy Stritch is that the Thesaurus does not contain words that will enable you to hear the exceptional music they create. Written observations also cannot let you feel the ambience of sitting in the legendary space of Birdland. It’s hopeless to try and make you hear the sounds of one of the worlds greatest pianists on a 7 foot piano creating harmonies on those 88 keys that are breathtaking in their sensitivity and imagination while accompanying the beautifully meticulous voice of one of the best singers on the planet, Christine Ebersole. Individually their vocal musicianship is extraordinary, and together the blend produces one of the most memorable cabaret/concert experiences one can have. On top of that you get the fun conversation and chemistry that their personalities generate. This is definitely not the JV Team and that’s the only politics you get in this show.
