A woman’s hair enhances her look and persona. And different women today have different hair types and styles. Some women have a combination hair type, which is a result of pollution, lack of proper nourishment or genes. However, one hairstyle that most women strive to have and flaunt is the classic straight hair. The long, shiny, straight tresses render grace, beauty, and charm to a woman. It is not to say other hair types or styles are inferior. Some women are naturally inclined towards a straight mane and would love to flaunt it.
However, not everyone is born with straight hair. For the ones who aren’t there are several ways today! You can get your hairs straightened using the hair irons available in markets today. But how do you select the correct one? You can use the guidelines below to choose the best hair iron for yourself.
Selecting the best hair straightener apt for you
Your hair type outlines the straightening requirements. For instance, if you already have silky, straight hair you don’t need a straightener or a flat hair iron. But if you have wavy to curly hair, a good quality hair iron is essential. The flat irons make use of the heated plates to make the individual hair follicles flat. You find out the best flat hair iron through trial and error.
Identify what you require based on your hair type
Examine and know your hair type. The variety of flat iron differs from multiple hair requirements. So, take a pick from the categories listed below. You can also get in touch with Evolution of Hairto know abouttreatments, styles, hair products and relevant information on hair straightening.
- If you have curly and wavy hair
Is your head a huge mop of thick curly or wavy hair? If yes, then you’ll need a right amount of heat to make it straight. A flat iron having an increased setting is essential. You can get smooth, silky tresses even when you’re concerned about volume. It’s crucial that to don’t select the steam straighteners, as it can make your hair go all frizzy. Select a flat iron that can help you get the classic, straight hair or one with mild wavy curls.
- If your hair has undergone color treatment
If you’ve colored your hair, it will be slightly delicate in texture. Using a high-power straightener will take away its natural glow and sheen. The ideal flat iron for this type of hair is one that comes with a flexible temperature control panel. If your present flat iron doesn’t have this feature, it’s time to get a new one. That aside, not using a flat iron with a managed temperature control system will result in pigmentation issues, color loss, and total hair damage. Since you wouldn’t be requiring 200 degrees heat, your flat iron should have the primary heal control system to cater to the purpose.
- Treating straight hair
Simply put, women having straight hair don’t need any straighteners. But still, if you want to opt-in for one, you can say yes to a versatile straightener that comes with various heat settings. Excess heat will affect the straight hair end, literally heat up the follicles and will damage a good-touch up. Usually, straight hair heads get a lot of benefit from the keratin treatments as well. On the other hand, if your hair is frizzy and needs very less blow-dry applications, then you can leverage a blow dry straightener or blow dry your hair.
Understanding your flat iron plate type
Your requirements always come first. Your hair straightener always has many other objectives, based on the plate type that you finally choose. The plate of a flat hair iron is what creates the smooth, straight hair strands for someone with wavy or curly hair. Wondering which straightener’s plate type to select? You can choose from the ones discussed as follows:
- The magnesium hair iron plate
Since it’s a natural element, magnesium has a fantastic heat conductivity capacity. It also has a high recovery capacity that helps in styling the hair. The heat conductivity aspect along with the recovery bit enables for lesser passes. It, in turn, leads to less damage due to heat. Furthermore, you can get salon-like straightened hair quality.
- The tourmaline hair iron plate
The tourmaline flat iron hair straighteners always render a natural sheen on your hair. This iron plate type comes with a substantial negative output. It heats up the hair strands very fast. The quick heating process hugely improves the hair sheen quality. That makes it famous for hair styling. Since the tourmaline plated hair straighteners have low settings, it also helps to give the hair a specific shape while straightening. Neither the iron plate not the tresses get ruined in the process.
- The titanium hair iron plate
Popular amongst hair stylists, the titanium plate hair straightener provides variety. It is very lightweight as well. You can use it along with styling wax and cream for best results. This flat iron type is apt for almost all kinds of styling sessions. It heats up fast and can straighten the hair quickly without causing any damage. For women with curly hair, this is a great option. The flat iron provides maximum heat that tames the curls.
- The ceramic plate
The new age straighteners make use of ceramic plates. It is because the ceramic plates are highly accessible. Also, they are perfect for colored or treated hair type. These hair straighteners are preferred by the ones who want smooth, sleek and silky hair finish. The heat varies based on the curls and waves of your hair. Also, the straightening effect is long lasting.
However, one word of hair styling advice always works wonders. That is, regardless of the type of hair straightener you choose to use, still consider applying a heat protection spray. It is useful in keeping your hair damage free and also locks in the moisture so that the hair strands don’t run dry. If you are wondering about how to approach your hair straightening needs, you can refer to the guidelines discussed above and take your pick.
David and Jackie Siegel, Alongside Priscilla Presley, Present the Victoria’s Voice Foundation’s Music For Life Gala, Showcasing a Show-Stopping Performance by the Godmother of Soul, Patti LaBelle
Actress Priscilla Presley was honored with a Legacy Award at the Victoria’s Voice Foundation Music For Life Gala, which aimed to raise funds to combat America’s opioid crisis. The 78-year-old former wife of the late rock legend Elvis Presley received the award from the ‘Queen of Versailles,’ Jackie Siegel, during the gala held on Saturday at a private estate on Miami’s Palm Island, according to a press release provided by the foundation on Tuesday.
Jackie and her husband, David Siegel—founder of the Florida-based Westgate Resorts timeshare resort firm—co-founded Victoria’s Voice Foundation in 2019 after their 18-year-old daughter, Victoria Siegel, tragically died in June 2015 at their home in Windermere due to a drug overdose.
“This award inspires me to continue advocating for those impacted by addiction, and who live every day in fear that their loved ones will be taken from them,” said Presley, reflecting on the devastating impact of drug addiction.
“I am incredibly moved by how David and Jackie have turned their painful loss into a force for good and giving back. I salute everyone involved with Victoria’s Voice, and I share this award with all of you,” added Presley.
Presley received the award in front of roughly 300 attendees, and Siegel said she was being honored for her resilience that has ‘not only touched our hearts but has shown us the true power of the human spirit. Her journey and legacy is one of unwavering determination and a testament to the indomitable human will, and we’re honored to be there for her.’
The Music For Life Gala commenced with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner, dancing, and a private concert by the “Godmother of Soul,” Grammy Award-winner Patti LaBelle.
Victoria’s Voice Foundation is dedicated to providing drug prevention education and naloxone awareness, support, and resources to those affected by substance use. The foundation’s namesake, Victoria ‘Rikki’ Siegel, struggled with drug abuse and tragically passed away in 2015 due to an overdose of methadone and antidepressants.
In 2019, Siegel published Victoria’s diary, titled “Victoria’s Voice: Our Daughter’s Losing Battle with Drug Abuse.” In a moving introduction, she revealed that she had no idea her daughter was addicted to drugs. ‘Victoria’s dad, David Siegel, and I only became aware of the full extent of her drug use when we read about it in her diary, which she had kept hidden in her room,’ Siegel wrote in an excerpt published by ABC News. ‘All of the warning signs were there, but I just didn’t see them. Teens can be masters of deception.’
The Queen of Versailles was a 2012 documentary film that followed the construction of a house named the Palace of Versailles by Jackie and David Siegel.

Leah Wise Brings Out Carrie Bradshaw Sensibility and Style
Ever since Sarah Jessica Parker did her infamous “jog-walk” down the streets of New York in a pink tutu in the debut episode of “Sex and the City,” the character of Carrie Bradshaw has been a fashion icon. With “And Just Like That,” the reboot of the seminal HBO series, there has been a renewed interest in the Carrie Bradshaw look. Originally conceived by Patricia Field and now carried on in the new series by Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago, the Carrie Bradshaw aesthetic is modern, yet timeless in its own way. From Manolos to giant flower pins, Carrie has single-handedly kicked off massive fashion trends, and remains relevant even 25 years after “Sex and the City” debuted.
Today’s professional women still want to infuse some of that Carrie Bradshaw look into their wardrobes. However, as much as Carrie’s look shifts with trends, working women may wonder how to get a little bit of “Carrie” into their closets without looking crazy (I mean, who is really going to wear a dress that looks like a bed comforter?)
What draws people to Carrie Bradshaw’s sense of style is the freedom and creativity it represents. While people may not be willing to go as far as Carrie does with some of her looks – I mean, we can forgive her for wearing a summer dress over a denim button-down, Big had just died — there is still a desire for work wear that has some personality.
Leah Wise, founder of CrashGal Couture, has seen a need in the market for clothing lines that allow women to express themselves. “It’s about encouraging people to embrace their personal style,” says Wise.
Here are some tips on how to bring a little bit of Carrie Bradshaw into the boardroom.
Mix classic with couture
The reason Carrie Bradshaw’s looks are so appealing is because they include some timeless, classic pieces that will never go out of style — pencil skirts, suit jackets, and the little black dress among them. Having classic staples is especially important for people just starting off in their careers. It can help them create a wardrobe that they can build off of as they progress through their career, adding more couture pieces to enhance the staples as they go. Wise hopes that by providing wardrobe staples at affordable prices, she will give a leg up to women who want to remain stylish, yet professional. “CrashGal aims to ensure affordability doesn’t stop people from showcasing their professionalism and personal style in the workplace,” says Wise.
Have a signature accessory
Would Carrie be Carrie without her “Carrie” necklace? Sometimes having something signature is all you need to make a look your own, no matter what the rest of the outfit entails. This can be scarves, great shoes, fun bags, or statement necklaces. Signature accessories become part of who we are and are interwoven into our personalities. Office looks can often be staid and lacking in joy. Becoming known for a signature accessory can bring a bit of happiness to what can often be a very “buttoned up” world.
Don’t fear color or print Carrie Bradshaw has done it all, from wild neon get-ups to animal print couture. While you may not want to pile all this on at once — as Carrie often gets away with — you can bring a pop of color or a bit of print into an outfit to make it more fun and fashion-forward. There are several pieces on the CrashGal site that don’t shy away from bold colors or prints — yet remain office-friendly. “Our Golden Touch Midi Skirt, for example, comes in a vibrant orange color,” offers Wise, “It adds a cheerful vibe to any outfit.”
Don’t be afraid to experiment
Perhaps you feel most comfortable in neutral colors and basic pieces, but feel drawn to the Carrie Bradshaw look anyway? In that case, don’t fear a little fashion experimentation. Carrie was all about experimenting. Remember when she told Aidan that wearing her engagement ring around her neck was “something she was just trying?” Carrie Bradshaw is the queen of “just trying it out.” Start small with accessories, a bold heel, or bright colors instead of neutrals. We never know unless we try!
Wear it with confidence
Whatever Carrie Bradshaw was wearing when she bounded down the steps of her brownstone, she wore it with confidence. Confidence-building is the foundation of the CrashGal Couture brand. “By transcending conventional norms through their wardrobe, women can gain the confidence to take on their careers and empower others,” says Wise.
Confidence is what allowed Carrie Bradshaw to get away with some of the more eyebrow-raising looks she has donned over the years. When someone is clearly confident, it can be the best accessory to a well-appointed outfit.
Carrie Bradshaw is one of the most recognizable fashion mavens of the past few decades. Even though “Sex and the City” ended long ago, and the reboot has been met with some mixed reviews, the fashion remains timelessly swoon-worthy. By putting just a little bit of that Carrie flavor into your work wardrobe, you can make going into the office just a bit more fun.
