Styling Your Bedroom to be Your Personal Retreat (All While Staying Under Budget)

Whether setting up your bedroom in a new home or updating the one you have called your own for years, you can perfectly style your bedroom to be an oasis of sorts. You can even do so without spending a large sum. Give it a look and feel that suits your personal style and that will make it your favorite room in the house. Include the right elements of decor and design in your bedroom, and allow yourself a personal retreat at home!

The right bedding is so important. It can make your bed the first place you want to go when you arrive home and the coziest place you will wish you never had to leave. Choose a set with bright colors that pop in a fun pattern or choose a neutral palette that complements the rest of the room’s muted, homey feel. The choice is yours! You can also incorporate various textures to make your bedding stand out in the room and extra comfortable to snuggle up in.

Rather than investing in something big like a new piece of furniture, transform the style of your bedroom and majorly add to its comfortability by getting yourself some bedding you love.

 Floor Space

Even when the dreaded time to get out of bed comes, let your feet stay cozy with a plush rug on the ground. Whether it is a giant area rug spanning the room or a smaller runner between pieces of furniture, pick a rug that is soft and comfortable and that ties in with the rest of the room’s aesthetic.

Wall Decor

Let the walls in your bedroom speak to who you are and what you value most. Hang pictures of loved ones to form a gallery wall or paintings that hold meaning to you or that you just simply think are pretty. Your walls should welcome you into the room and make you really feel at home. Make them do so simply by finding inexpensive frames and filling them with what you adore.

Whether your priorities for window treatments lie in darkening the bedroom for sleep purposes or in giving the space a light, airy feel, use your windows to accomplish your goals. There are plenty of options to suit either purpose. Install heavy, darker curtains to make your room feel like it’s nighttime all throughout the day or light-colored sheers to evoke a sense of delicateness and softness.

 Fresh Blooms

Fresh blooms in brilliant hues or leafy green indoor plants are sure to add a touch of hominess and life to your bedroom. Keeping houseplants has even been proven to contribute to a healthier home. Put a little extra life in your bedroom and make the space even happier.

Try one or more of these methods of adding style to your bedroom and give the space an update without shelling out the money a large-scale renovation would require. Use the right elements of decor to easily put together the perfect space to call your own and enable you to relax and unwind.
