Summer is finally here. New York City launched the season with a sizzling start with G.H. Mumm hosting events to celebrate a new tier of cuvees in the portfolio called RSRV, as well as a decadent Grand Cordon Rose.
The beloved brand along with Cellarmaster, Didier Mariotti, brought together tastemakers to join in soirees all over town to give toast to the latest selections.
At 50 Bowery, guests enjoyed a lovely meal of Shrimp and Bacon Shumai and Tea Smoked Branzino both wonderfully paired with RSRV Blanc de Blancs 2012 and with RSRV Blanc de Noirs 2008 respectfully. Finishing for dessert was a refreshing Grand Cordon Rose cocktail specialty drink called Rose Poptail.
To top of the extraordinary day guests took a daring ride on the waters of Manhattan in a speedboat for close views of The Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge. The enthralling moment was as thrilling as the tastes of lunch.
Another round of adventure took place with a sophisticated seating at Nomad Rooftop. Knowledge of the brand was generously shared by Mariotti. Guests gained a wealth of words over the delicate and divine tastings. Hamachi was served with a tangy essence found in the RSRV Blanc de Blancs 2012. Lobster with Leeks & Ginger Consomme was smooth and rich highlighted by the tones of the RSRV Blanc de Noir 2009. Followed was a special dish of Nomad Roast Chicken that was highlighted by a bit of heaven found in the divine G.H. Mumm RSRV Cuvee 4.5. Topping off was a grand dessert of Cobbler with Ricotta Ice Cream that delighted attendees enjoyed with a perfect pairing of Grand Cordon Rose.
The divine start to summer celebration embraced the brand’s essence perfectly. The sophistication of G.H. Mumm is as superb as its reputation for daring to be edgy and simply fun.
The appeal of the brand touches all ages and countries for good reason. Maison Mumm has embraced the unconventional since it was founded in 1827. There is great innovation to be found over the generations that has found the brand mastering the power of Pinot Noir in a complex assemblage of more than a hundred crus. G.H. Mumm is quality, as much as it is an adventure in a bottle.
The outstanding champagnes are produced from the region’s most exceptional terroirs: out of the 218 hectares of the G.H. Mumm vineyards, 160 are grand crus, the best parcels in Champagne. Nothing but the best is to be found in the making of every bottle. With the launch of RSRV comes an extension of this historical dedication. The unique shape of the bottle brings forth four cuvees that are produced in limited quality including two vintages chosen by the cellarmaster himself at the peak of the harvest. Wine gurus and consumers love the concept. To add to the allure, the bottles can only be purchased in certain global regions via a network of friends who invite you in to the secret club of RSRV ambassadors, or by limited online sales in the states.
Just as exciting this summer is the seasonal Grand Cordon Rose. The sweet selection is a luminous pale salmon pink that embraces the intense fruit aromas of fresh strawberries, cherries and redcurrant with an undercurrent of caramel and vanilla. The bottle design is slender and specially designed to accentuate the intense fragrances. From bonfires at the beach to picnics in the park, the lively selection is a perfect fit for the season.
Here is to a beautiful summer with G.H. Mumm.
