Taste of Upper West Side is Coming!

Taste of the Upper West Side(“TasteUWS”),the Columbus Avenue Business Improvement District’s (BID) annual fundraiser, now in its 12th year, will expand its mixology section to both nights of the event. The exclusive cocktail platform, which premiered at last year’s Best of the West, is back by popular demand with more specially curated offerings from nearly twice as many destinations, spanning the Upper West Side to Harlem.

Among the bars and restaurants making their TasteUWS mixology debuts will be: 67 Orange Street with the “Kentucky Blossom;” Tiki Chick with the “Peg Leg Punch;” and Jake’s Dilemma and Gin Mill with “Hudson Highwater.” The ever popular Da Capo is returning with “Espresso Yourself” and “The Samurai.” Prohibition is introducing a new entry this year with “Packing Heat,” and Maison Pickle will present “Jacob’s Collins.” Also joining the party with soon-to-be-announced offerings are Manhattan Cricket Club and Nobody Told Me Cocktail Club.

In addition to the nine bars and restaurants showcasing intoxicating creativity, sponsors such as Tito’s Handmade Vodka and White Claw Hard Seltzer will present their own signature selections. For wine and beer lovers, there will be more than 20 distinct wines from Taub Family Companies, and a host of refreshing beers that include Asahi, Corona Premier, Corona Refresca, Heineken, Strongbow, and Tiger.

“Thanks to the unwavering enthusiasm of our participating restaurants, bars and sponsors, TasteUWS continues to stay fresh and exciting,” says Barbara Adler, Executive Director of the Columbus Avenue BID. “Last year’s mixology section was such a hit, we wanted to share it both nights. Also exciting are 16 restaurants making their TasteUWS debuts, adding to a total of more than 80 restaurants!”

The Columbus Avenue BID, a 501c3, is establishing a second new “tradition” this year by highlighting another non-profit organization rooted in the community. This year’s official honoree is West Side Campaign Against Hunger (WSCAH), a food pantry that has been providing fresh vegetables, fruits and proteins to the community, free of charge, for more than four decades. Beyond its sustenance with dignity, supermarket-style model, WSCAH offers many complimentary social services, along with culinary training and nutritional guidance. At TasteUWS, WSCAH will serve tastings prepared by students of its “Culinary Pathways” program, as it has for several years.

More information about Taste of the Upper West Side and ticket purchases are available at Schedules and programs for both nights, include:
