The 31st Jane Elissa Extravaganza Raising Money For Leukemia/Lymphoma, Cancer, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Other Charitable Causes

For the past twenty-nine years, after her mother was diagnosed with leukemia, artist/designer, Jane Elissa has been raising money for Leukemia and Cancer research. Her annual benefit is being held Monday night at 6:45 at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. Featuring “The Boy Band Project with Travis Nesbitt,” Kristen Alderson (One Life To Live, General Hospital, The Marvelous Wonderettes), Nicholas Barasch (She Loves Me, The Mystery of Edwin Drood), Blaine Alden Krauss (Kinky Boots, The Cher Show) and Jordan Siwek (Les Miserables)

Jane created an award called the Shining Star award. This year recipient is Shining Star Award: Blaine Alden Krauss, Kinky Boots, The Cher Show. TheHeart of Gold Award: The Boy Band Project, featuring Travis Nesbitt, Charlotte Meyers Volunteer Recognition Award: Martin Watkins and David S. Mazza. Special Honor: Smokey Joe’s Cafe and Lifetime Commitment Award: Dr. Annie Albarian.

The event chars are Michael James Caldwell, VP Branch Manager, BNB Honorary Chair: Steven Kaufman and Walgreens/Duane Reade. Celebrity Chair is Jacklyn Zeman, from “General Hospital”.

Dale Badway

Dale Badway, a two time Tony winning producer on Pippin, American in Paris, On the Town, Groundhog Day, Bonnie and Clyde and Porgy and Bess was honored with the first ever Charlotte Myers recognition award. Dale is also the President, Board of Directors, of Theatre World Awards, Inc. Theatre World Awards, initiated in 1944, are the oldest awards given to debut performances for Broadway and Off-Broadway. Dale will be the Master of Ceremonies.

Jane has been voluntarily raising money for cancer and leukemia research through her benefits and designs. This Christmas she has created the Hunk Stocking and all of these items give back.

Jane embodies the spirit of giving.

Events

Suzanna, co-owns and publishes the newspaper Times Square Chronicles or T2C. At one point a working actress, she has performed in numerous productions in film, TV, cabaret and theatre. She has performed at The New Orleans Jazz festival, The United Nations and Carnegie Hall. Currently she has a screenplay in the works, which she developed with her mentor and friend the late Arthur Herzog. She was the Broadway Informer on the all access cable TV Show “The New Yorkers,” soon to be “The Tourist Channel.” email: suzanna@t2conline.com
