The Band’s Visit Recouped its Capitalization

After 11 months, The Band’s Visit has recouped its $8.75 million investment. The Band’s Visit highest gross was, $1.56 million, in the week ending Dec. 31, 2017 and for several months following the Tony Awards, the musical grossed above the million mark.

Based on an Israeli film, The Band’s Visit won 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

It transferred from the Atlantic Theatre and began previews at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on Oct. 7, 2017, opening Nov. 9, 2017.

“We are deeply grateful to the artists, collaborators and colleagues who have worked with us tirelessly to bring ‘The Band’s Visit’ to Broadway,” producers Orin Wolf, John Styles and John Hart said in the press release. “It has brought us all such joy to see audiences connect with this story of strangers finding common ground through small acts of kindness.”

The Original Broadway Cast Recording of The Band’s Visit was released by Ghostlight Records and is available digitally and in stores everywhere. Kurt Deutsch served as album executive producer; David Yazbek and Dean Sharenow served as producers.
