The Broadway Green Alliance Sponsers a Clothing Drive and Textile Drive

Have you gotten started on your spring cleaning? Clear out your closets and bring all of your clothing, shoes, linens, and other textiles to Broadway Green Alliance’s semi-annual textile drive.

The collection drive is open to all shows, theatres, industry members, and fans in a collaborative effort to make cleaning out your theatre or your closet a greener experience.

Wearable Collections, a NYC-based company focused on keeping clothing, textiles, and shoes out of landfills while generating funds for charities, will repurpose or recycle the donations.

ACCEPTED:
Clean and dry clothing, paired shoes, linens, handbags, and other reusable textiles

NOT ACCEPTED:
Carpeting, rugs, bath mats, comforters, pillows, large luggage, and scraps of any kind

May 23, 2018, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm – Spring Textile Drive Duffy Square, 46th Street between 7th Avenue and Broadway, Manhattan

The Broadway Green Alliance (BGA) is an industry-wide initiative that educates, motivates, and inspires the entire theatre community and its patrons to implement environmentally friendlier practices. The BGA, launched in 2008 in collaboration with the Natural Resources Defense Council, is an ad hoc committee of the Broadway League and a fiscal program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The BGA brings together all segments of the theatre community, including producers, theatres in New York and around the country, theatrical unions and their members, and related businesses. The BGA identifies and disseminates better practices for theatre professionals and reaches out to theatre fans throughout the country.
