The Crazy Life of Ozzy Osbourne

The Crazy Life of Ozzy Osbourne

There is no mistaking the recognisable face of Ozzy Osbourne. For many people, he is known from the reality television series ‘The Osbournes’ but has most recently featured on an advert for Metal Casino. This casino was formed by metal music fans in August 2017 and Ozzy Osbourne signed as an ambassador of the rock-themed website.

His link to the world of online casinos did not end there and soon after becoming the ambassador for Metal Casino, Ozzy Osbourne had his own branded online slots game. The Ozzy Osbourne Slot is part of the NetEnt Rocks music-themed portfolio and we will look at the game in more detail shortly but first, let’s take a brief look at where it all began for Ozzy Osbourne.

The English singer, songwriter, actor and reality television star was born John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham, England and sprang to fame as the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath.

However, you must go back to his school days to find Ozzy Osbourne’s first appearance on stage. It didn’t take long forOzzy Osbourneto gain an interest in music and it is believed the 1963 song “She Loves You” by the Beatles was theinspiration for him to become a musician. He left school at the age of 15 but with the belief he would become a rock star.

Having left school, Ozzy Osbourne tried his hand at several jobs including as a construction site labourer, trainee plumber, apprentice toolmaker, car factory horn-tuner, and abattoir worker. He even spent some time in Winson Green Prison having been found guilty of robbing a clothes shop. This was just the beginning of the crazy life of Ozzy Osbourne.

Ozzy Osbourne was asked to be lead vocalist in Rare Breed in 1967 and just two years later the band renamed themselves Black Sabbath. It did not take long for the band to become a success and theirearly records including their debut album Black Sabbath and Paranoidenjoyed plenty of airtime and great sales. However, it was proving tough to win over the critics until the release of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, which received many positive reviews throughout mainstream media.

The album was the band’s fifth consecutive platinum selling album in the United States and was quickly followed by Sabotage, which was released in July 1975 and Technical Ecstasy, which was released on 25 September 1976. Black Sabbath were enjoying plenty of success by this point but things were about to change for Ozzy Osbourne.

He left the group to pursue a solo career but it wasn’t long before Ozzy Osbournere-joined the group although there was friction between the members, especially Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne. There was an incident in the early 1970’s when Ozzy Osbourne and Geezer Butler were fighting in a hotel room. Both participants were drunk and as Iommi moved in to break them up, Ozzy Osbournetried to punch him but missed. Iommi took things into his own hands and knocked Osbourne unconscious with a single punch.

Ozzy Osbourne then worked with Blizzard of Ozzand their first album was officially credited as a solo album. It was a success labelled as being the first solo album of Ozzy Osbourne’s career. This did not stop the singer from causing controversy and during a meeting with CBS Records executives in Los Angeles, he bit the head off a dove. Despite the horrible nature of this act, it has stuck with him throughout his career and is credited as being one of the things which has made Ozzy Osbourne famous.

A similar incident occurred when a fan threw a bat on stage during a live performance. Having reportedly been bitten by the animal, Ozzy Osbourne took matters into his own hands and bit off the bats head. An Ozzy plush bat toy with detachable head was for sale on his website in January 2019 to commemorate the 37th anniversary of the bat incident and sold out.

Just as things were going well, disaster struck just a week ahead of the band playing at Madison Square Garden in New York . A plane piloted by tour bus driver Andrew Aycock and carrying guitarist Randy Rhoads and Rachel Youngblood, the bands costume designer, clipped the top of the tour bus and crashed. It killed all three of them and left Ozzy Osbourne in a deep depression.

Nonetheless, Ozzy Osbournecontinue to enjoy great success throughout the 1980’s as a musical performer. He went on to enjoy great financial success with Ozzfestin the 1990’s and a quad bikeCrash in 2003 did not stop Ozzy Osbourne from continuing his work despite his wife, Sharon Osbourne, saying he had stopped breathing following the crash. It was his personal bodyguard, Sam Ruston, who resuscitated him having suffered injuries to his collar bone, ribsand a neck vertebra.

However, it was during his stay in hospital that Ozzy Osbourne achieved his first ever UK number one single. He continues performing to this day, with a tour including Marilyn Mansonplanned in 2020 but also has several other interests, including the ambassadorial role at Metal Casino. Upon loading the homepage of the casino, you are met with a cartoon style image of Ozzy Osbourne sitting on a dark throne, much in keeping with his overall vibe of Satanism.

Moving on to the Ozzy Osbourne Slot and it begins with him sitting on his throne while the song“Mr. Crowley”is played from the speakers. It is some introduction to a slot game. The 5-reel, 3-row layout has 20 fixed paylines and can be played at anything from 0.20 to £100 per spin.

The style of the Ozzy Osbourne slot is reminiscent of a 1980’s comic book. The Ozzy Osbourne logo is positioned at the top and the four lower value symbols are roses, crucifixes, skulls, and ravens. The four premium symbols all feature Ozzy Osbourne himself and the bat-eating version is the most rewarding, giving you 50 times your stake for a combination of five on a full payline. The devil bat substitutes for all other symbols other than the scatter and appears on all reels.

There are several features to enjoy when playing the Ozzy Osbourne Slot including Re-Spin, Charge Up, Symbol Spinner box and Feature Spinner box. This is all contributing to what is a very entertaining slot game and the latest instalment in the crazy life of Ozzy Osbourne.
