  • Metal Braces:

These are traditional brackets. These brackets made up of metal. A metal wire passes through these brackets. An elastic band is also used to hold these brackets. It is available in different colors. This is the modern era. Things have been revolutionized. These brackets too are smaller than before. The archwires are heat-activated. These wires adjust more quickly to your body’s temperature. These brackets are less painful as they used to be in the past. These brackets used to be a painful experience of a kid’s life in the past. Now elastic bands are used in different colors which make them attractive for kids. Though a child still needs some time to adjust to these brackets they are less painful now. If you are wearing these braces, anyone who looks at you may notice in a glance. If you don’t want to be noticed as wearing brackets, at first sight, you can opt for the other invisible brackets.

  • Lingual:

Lingual brackets are hidden brackets. These brackets are placed inside the teeth. They are designed in such a way so that may easily fix the inner side of your teeth. It is hard to notice if someone is wearing these types of brackets. Adults and those who have used brackets in the past can adjust with these brackets more easily. These brackets are not suitable for some severe cases.

  • Invisalign:

These aligners are made of clear plastic and are removable. These are almost invisible. Invisalign has to be replaced after two weeks. These are more expensive than other options available for the treatment. These are comfortable and perfect for teenagers and adults. As teenagers are very concerned about their looks and they don’t want to comprise on it. If you are wearing Invisalign, you must not eat sticky things like chewing gum, jelly beans, and caramel as they may damage your brackets.

  • Ceramic:

These are designed exactly like metal brackets. What makes them different is their transparency. Glass is used to make these transparent brackets. You need to take care of them properly. If you don’t clean them, they might get stained. Ceramic brackets are more expensive than traditional metal brackets. You can select the braces color that matches your skin tone. These are more effective than plastic brackets as they do not irritate the gums.
