The Happy Time at Feinstein’s/ 54 Below Celebrates the 50th Anniversary Starring and Directed by Michael Rupert

To commemorate Kander & Ebb’s 50th anniversary of opening night on Broadway, Feinstein’s/54 Below presented one of musical theater’s most romantic scores, The Happy Time. Broadway veteran, and original cast member, Tony Award winner Michael Rupert, to the audience back to 1968 to rediscover one of the greatest scores  from one of Broadway’s most accomplished teams, Tony Award winners John Kander and Fred Ebb (Chicago, Cabaret).

The Happy Time features such great songs as “I Don’t Remember You,” “Walking Among My Yesterdays,” “A Certain Girl,” and many more!

The Happy Time follows  Jacques, a world-roving photographer, as he returns to his French-Canadian village hoping to recover the happy time of his childhood. His nephew, fascinated by his uncle’s world, proposes to drop out of school and become his assistant. When Jacques is confronted with this new responsibility, he begins to question his own life choices.

Magda Katz has been in the entertainment world for most of her life as a child actress, assistant to the head publicist of Avco Embassy Pictures, theatrical print agent. She went on to manage the show business career of her 2 children for over 15 years. For the last five years Magda has been filming and editing video trailers of live performances as well as celebrity interviews. Broadway After Dark was the first website to feature her video trailers. She contributed in creating a star studded 90th birthday party for Mickey Rooney at Feinstein’s at the Regency Hotel.
