“The MOMS” Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein and Kristin Chenoweth Talk About Breast Cancer

Denise Albert, Kristin Chenoweth, Melissa Musen GersteinThe MOMS” Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein along with award-winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth hosted a MAMARAZZI® event at the Carlyle Hotel. The event was sponsored by breast cancer support initiative Warriors in Pink and powered by Ford.

This is the 3rd in a series of Breast Cancer and this event to see Parts 1 and 2 click on the numbers.

For every eight women you know right now odds are at least one of them will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Emmy-award winning songstress, actress, and now advocate Kristin Chenoweth has lost a loved one to cancer, and has been there, as others close to her fought for their lives.

“I have two aunts who’ve survived it and my mom got it, and then got over it, and then it returned, as you know happens sometimes,” explains Chenoweth. “She ended up getting a double mastectomy and surviving it.”

Chenoweth is using her powerful voice to spread a powerful message. “If we can find it early, we can take care of ourselves and as you know knowledge is power. When I found out my mom had cancer, my world fell out from underneath me. That’s my best friend. How was I, how would I even think about my life without her.”

Chenoweth is hoping for, for every women, to beat breast cancer. Whether it’s with regular mammograms, 3-D mammograms, breast MRIs or genetic testing, there are affordable options, and many of them out there for everyone. Chenoweth asks “if we have it available to us, why wouldn’t we do it?” “We have tools available to us to really find and detect more invasive cancer and if you find it early, you have a 5 year survival rate of almost 100 percent.”“So, my message is: check it out, get it done and look forward so you can continue this beautiful life that we remember, living one time. So, we might as well enjoy it, and take care of our health to the highest level that we can. This is one way to do it.”
