On March 12, The THRIVE Network’s 2nd Annual FLY & THRIVE Fundraiser took place at FLYWHEEL Studio on the Upper East Side. It was a spectacular way to spend a Sunday raising funds for those in need while sweating off the cold winter chill.
“The second annual Fly & THRIVE event was a big success and the proceeds will benefit the Sunday Respite program. We had a number of people who participated that were introduced to THRIVE and that awareness is so important in our outreach to new supporters. Just as important, THRIVE had a number of employees and consumers who had a chance to THRIVE at their own individual level which is part of THRIVE’s mission,” stated Michael Needleman, The THRIVE Network Board of Directors.
Guests in attendance were thrilled to ride for a fantastic cause at the intense interactive class with the hottest dance songs of today.
“The Fly & THRIVE event was a big hit! It was great having the opportunity to compete in a high-energy spin class with not only my friends, but with the consumers while raising awareness for the outstanding work The Thrive Network is doing in the community! It’s a win win,” said Erik Coleman, The THRIVE Network Ambassador.
Funds raised at the beloved event will help The THRIVE Network’s Sunday Respite & Recreational Programs, which provides temporary care for individuals and family members with a developmental disability, while allowing the primary caregiver to take a break from their daily routine.
“As a community based organization, THRIVE continues to find ways to demonstrate the need, availability and awareness of services and support for people with disabilities. Our Fly & THRIVE event has proven to be an excellent opportunity to connect with various advocates, our consumers and supporters. With the support of Flywheel (East 60th Street), this has become my personal favorite event where consumers, staff and supporters can come together as one. Fly & THRIVE is high – energy fun with smiles, laughter and exercise. The comment of the day by one consumer was, “Can we do this again next week?” to which I responded “of course.” Special Thanks to all those who continue to believe in The THRIVE Network mission of enhancing the lives of people in need,” said Charles A. Archer, CEO The THRIVE Network.
Founded in 1996, the THRIVE Network is a 501(c)(3) social services agency dedicated to meeting the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families who are in need of crucial services to enhance their lives. Every day we support more than 1,000 individuals and their families throughout Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan. For more information please check out the site here.
