A watch is just a device to tell time and nothing else, right? Wrong. Wearing a watch, especially a luxury one, can provide you with so much more benefits. A luxury watch is one of those products that you can form a special bond with. After all, how many times do you find yourself checking the time each day? But, why not just buy a $10 watch on Amazon and call it a day? Because a luxury watch is worth the extra money. Read on to learn the top 8 Benefits of buying a luxury watch.

1: You’ll Look Smarter

If you want to effortlessly appear smarter to your peers, then a luxury watch is the way to do it.  Like it or not, attractive people are judged as being more successful and intelligent. This is something known as the halo effect, a term that was coined in the 1920s but proven to be true in 1972. Three professors at the University of Minnesota posed various questions to 60 students about how successful/intelligent someone was based on a photograph. And, you guessed it, the attractive people were thought to be more intelligent and successful. Wearing a luxury watch is one of the easiest ways to boost your attractiveness, and therefore also boost how intelligent and successful you appear to others.

2: You’ll Stand Out From the Crowd

There are a lot of ways to stand out in a crowd, but very few that don’t involve someone being annoying or intrusive. Luckily, wearing a luxury watch is one of those ways you can stand out without making it look like you’re even trying to do so. This is because people notice things that are uncommon, whether it be an extremely attractive person or an extremely tall person. A luxury watch is one of those things that is not very common. Therefore, when you wear one you are sure to stand out and grab the attention of others.

3: People Will Take You Seriously

Ever get frustrated because you feel like your boss, or someone else in your life, isn’t taking you seriously? By wearing popular watch brands, you are automatically communicating to those around you that you are ready to do business. This is because luxury watches show the world that you know the importance of looking the part. This can prove to be especially beneficial if you work in a field that involves selling products or services.

4: Improve Your Status Quo

Flip through any Fortune 500 roundup, and you’ll find many of the people featured in the there have one thing in common: they all weather luxury watches. Of course, they do it for all the reasons already mentioned in this article, but they also do it so they stand out as the elite members of society. They know that because they don’t produce the same results or live the same life as the average person, they also shouldn’t look like the average person. And the average person doesn’t wear a luxury watch.

Think about it in different terms, like your favorite celebrity or athlete. Does your favorite athlete get their workout clothes from Walmart? Does your favorite actress roll into the red carpet in an old dress? No. They buy luxury because they know it helps hold up their status as an elite person.

5: Spice Up your Wardrobe

If you ever feel like the outfit you’re wearing is a little bland, a luxury watch is the perfect way to spice it up. Contrary to popular belief, luxury watches come in all kinds of styles and colors. Therefore, it can take any outfit you’re wearing to the next level. And the best part is, luxury watches always look good. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking bloated, tired, or anything else. A luxury watch will always allied some style points and make you look better.

6: They Make for Great Heirlooms

When it comes to popular family heirlooms, watches are usually at the top of the list. Regardless of the time period that it’s worn during, a luxury watch is timeless and will immediately grab the attention of others.Watches also last a very long time and typically only need To be repaired once every 5 to 10 years. Therefore, this is one of the best gifts you can pass down to your children.

7: Luxury Watches Retain Value

Many people choose to invest in luxury cars to improve their status quo, as they are also a prime indicator of elite status. However, compared to watches, luxury cars lose a significant amount of value over time. In fact, some watches can even increase in        value as the years go by. And, if you plan to one day sell your watch, you can almost always get it for the same original value, as long as you take good care of it.

8: Offers Quality Time Keeping

Last but not least, a luxury watch offers quality time keeping. Part of the reason luxury watches run a high price tag is because of the obsessive engineering that goes into them. Master horologists work in state of the art facilities to put together these     timepieces. The standards of craftsmanship are extremely high, and it typically takes 10 months to  2 years to complete the manufacturing process. All of this helps ensure that your luxury watch will be able to keep extremely accurate time for years to come, often with just minor tune ups every decade or so.

David and Jackie Siegel, Alongside Priscilla Presley, Present the Victoria’s Voice Foundation’s Music For Life Gala, Showcasing a Show-Stopping Performance by the Godmother of Soul, Patti LaBelle

Published

Actress Priscilla Presley was honored with a Legacy Award at the Victoria’s Voice Foundation Music For Life Gala, which aimed to raise funds to combat America’s opioid crisis. The 78-year-old former wife of the late rock legend Elvis Presley received the award from the ‘Queen of Versailles,’ Jackie Siegel, during the gala held on Saturday at a private estate on Miami’s Palm Island, according to a press release provided by the foundation on Tuesday.

Jackie discussed the strides Victoria’s Voice Foundation has taken to combat the opioid crisis

Jackie and her husband, David Siegel—founder of the Florida-based Westgate Resorts timeshare resort firm—co-founded Victoria’s Voice Foundation in 2019 after their 18-year-old daughter, Victoria Siegel, tragically died in June 2015 at their home in Windermere due to a drug overdose.

Jackie presented Priscilla with the 2023 Legacy Award

“This award inspires me to continue advocating for those impacted by addiction, and who live every day in fear that their loved ones will be taken from them,” said Presley, reflecting on the devastating impact of drug addiction.

“I am incredibly moved by how David and Jackie have turned their painful loss into a force for good and giving back. I salute everyone involved with Victoria’s Voice, and I share this award with all of you,” added Presley.

Presley received the award in front of roughly 300 attendees, and Siegel said she was being honored for her resilience that has ‘not only touched our hearts but has shown us the true power of the human spirit. Her journey and legacy is one of unwavering determination and a testament to the indomitable human will, and we’re honored to be there for her.’

Patti LaBelle performed on stage during the gala

The Music For Life Gala commenced with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner, dancing, and a private concert by the “Godmother of Soul,” Grammy Award-winner Patti LaBelle.

Victoria’s Voice Foundation is dedicated to providing drug prevention education and naloxone awareness, support, and resources to those affected by substance use. The foundation’s namesake, Victoria ‘Rikki’ Siegel, struggled with drug abuse and tragically passed away in 2015 due to an overdose of methadone and antidepressants.

In 2019, Siegel published Victoria’s diary, titled “Victoria’s Voice: Our Daughter’s Losing Battle with Drug Abuse.” In a moving introduction, she revealed that she had no idea her daughter was addicted to drugs. ‘Victoria’s dad, David Siegel, and I only became aware of the full extent of her drug use when we read about it in her diary, which she had kept hidden in her room,’ Siegel wrote in an excerpt published by ABC News. ‘All of the warning signs were there, but I just didn’t see them. Teens can be masters of deception.’

The Queen of Versailles was a 2012 documentary film that followed the construction of a house named the Palace of Versailles by Jackie and David Siegel.

Leah Wise Brings Out Carrie Bradshaw Sensibility and Style

Published

on

Ever since Sarah Jessica Parker did her infamous “jog-walk” down the streets of New York in a pink tutu in the debut episode of “Sex and the City,” the character of Carrie Bradshaw has been a fashion icon. With “And Just Like That,” the reboot of the seminal HBO series, there has been a renewed interest in the Carrie Bradshaw look. Originally conceived by Patricia Field and now carried on in the new series by Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago, the Carrie Bradshaw aesthetic is modern, yet timeless in its own way. From Manolos to giant flower pins, Carrie has single-handedly kicked off massive fashion trends, and remains relevant even 25 years after  “Sex and the City” debuted.

Today’s professional women still want to infuse some of that Carrie Bradshaw look into their wardrobes. However, as much as Carrie’s look shifts with trends, working women may wonder how to get a little bit of “Carrie” into their closets without looking crazy (I mean, who is really going to wear a dress that looks like a bed comforter?)

What draws people to Carrie Bradshaw’s sense of style is the freedom and creativity it represents. While people may not be willing to go as far as Carrie does with some of her looks – I mean, we can forgive her for wearing a summer dress over a denim button-down, Big had just died — there is still a desire for work wear that has some personality.

Leah Wise, founder of CrashGal Couture, has seen a need in the market for clothing lines that allow women to express themselves. “It’s about encouraging people to embrace their personal style,” says Wise.

Here are some tips on how to bring a little bit of Carrie Bradshaw into the boardroom.

Mix classic with couture
The reason Carrie Bradshaw’s looks are so appealing is because they include some timeless, classic pieces that will never go out of style — pencil skirts, suit jackets, and the little black dress among them. Having classic staples is especially important for people just starting off in their careers. It can help them create a wardrobe that they can build off of as they progress through their career, adding more couture pieces to enhance the staples as they go. Wise hopes that by providing wardrobe staples at affordable prices, she will give a leg up to women who want to remain stylish, yet professional. “CrashGal aims to ensure affordability doesn’t stop people from showcasing their professionalism and personal style in the workplace,” says Wise.

Have a signature accessory
Would Carrie be Carrie without her “Carrie” necklace? Sometimes having something signature is all you need to make a look your own, no matter what the rest of the outfit entails. This can be scarves, great shoes, fun bags, or statement necklaces. Signature accessories become part of who we are and are interwoven into our personalities. Office looks can often be staid and lacking in joy. Becoming known for a signature accessory can bring a bit of happiness to what can often be a very “buttoned up” world.

Don’t fear color or print                                                                                            Carrie Bradshaw has done it all, from wild neon get-ups to animal print couture. While you may not want to pile all this on at once — as Carrie often gets away with — you can bring a pop of color or a bit of print into an outfit to make it more fun and fashion-forward. There are several pieces on the CrashGal site that don’t shy away from bold colors or prints — yet remain office-friendly. “Our Golden Touch Midi Skirt, for example, comes in a vibrant orange color,” offers Wise, “It adds a cheerful vibe to any outfit.”

Don’t be afraid to experiment
Perhaps you feel most comfortable in neutral colors and basic pieces, but feel drawn to the Carrie Bradshaw look anyway? In that case, don’t fear a little fashion experimentation. Carrie was all about experimenting. Remember when she told Aidan that wearing her engagement ring around her neck was “something she was just trying?” Carrie Bradshaw is the queen of “just trying it out.” Start small with accessories, a bold heel, or bright colors instead of neutrals. We never know unless we try!

Wear it with confidence
Whatever Carrie Bradshaw was wearing when she bounded down the steps of her brownstone, she wore it with confidence. Confidence-building is the foundation of the CrashGal Couture brand. “By transcending conventional norms through their wardrobe, women can gain the confidence to take on their careers and empower others,” says Wise.
Confidence is what allowed Carrie Bradshaw to get away with some of the more eyebrow-raising looks she has donned over the years. When someone is clearly confident, it can be the best accessory to a well-appointed outfit.

Carrie Bradshaw is one of the most recognizable fashion mavens of the past few decades. Even though “Sex and the City” ended long ago, and the reboot has been met with some mixed reviews, the fashion remains timelessly swoon-worthy. By putting just a little bit of that Carrie flavor into your work wardrobe, you can make going into the office just a bit more fun.
