World-renownedFrench chocolate manufacturer, Valrhona, is hosting its annual Hot Chocolate Festival in New York City from January 19, 2019 to February 3, 2019. The city’s most celebrated pastry chefs such as Dominique Ansel and Baked’s Matt Lewis will create specially-made, decadent hot chocolate recipesfor locals and visitors alike to warm up this winter.
Valrhona is the chocolate brand of choice for top pastry chefs and chocolatiers worldwide. During the festival, chefs showcase their talents by creating innovative recipes for winter’s favorite sweet drink using different types of Valrhona chocolate.
The pastry companies participating in the festival include Almondine, Lafayette New York, Epicerie Boulud, Patisserie Chanson, Dominique Ansel Kitchen, Ladurée, Baked, La Maison du Chocolat, Gabriel Kreuther Handcrafted, Marie Belle, Brooklyn Roasting Company, and Levain Bakery.
To celebrate the start of this year’s festival in NYC, Valrhona is hosting a kick-off event at Ladurée SoHo on January 17that 5:30 p.m. For $40, guests are invited to enjoy unlimited samples of specialty hot chocolate and accompanying sweet treats.
While a celebration of the world-recognized chocolate maker, the Hot Chocolate Festival is also dedicated to Food Tank, a global community pushing for food system change with the goal of building a comprehensive database of organizations working to build a more seamless system. To help finance the charity’s“The Good Food Org” Guide in partnership with the James Beard Organization, all participating bakeries will be donating $0.50 for every hot chocolate purchased during the festival. Valrhona will also donate 100% of ticket sales from the NYC kickoff event. With Valrhona’s help, this will be the most comprehensive guide to the good food movement and opportunities for people to become involved ever assembled.
