What Roulette Games Can You Play Online?

What Roulette Games Can You Play Online?

Roulette is a really popular casino game and until the last decade or so you would have had to head to a brick and mortar casino if you wanted to play. With the explosion of online casinos, this has changed dramatically, and now you can enjoy the game of roulette from the comfort of your sofa. RoulettePro looks at the various roulette games you can play online.

Live dealer roulette is one of the most popular games to have hit the internet recently. In a live-streamed video a dealer appears to guide you through the game just as if you were at the tables in Vegas. They can interact with the players, and they have the full, professional wheel set up to use. The interactive betting mat appears on the screen of the players, but it is the most interactive and authentic way to play roulette on the internet. You can also play different variations.

American roulette is one of the most popular versions of the game. On first glance, you might think that all roulette wheels are the same, but on closer inspection, particularly if you see different wheels together, you will release there is one subtle difference. American roulette is also known as double zero roulette, and this is because as well as the alternating red and black slots labelled 1-36, you will find that there are two green slots, one labelled 0 and one marked 00. This is an American roulette wheel, so if you find yourself at a table with this wheel, you will play the American version of the game. The basic difference between this and other versions is the odds, as there are 38 slots in all, so the mathematical probability of the ball landing on a particular space is calculated from 38.

European roulette which is also called single zero roulette is the other most popular version of the game. As you may already be able to guess the main difference is that there is only one green space and that is marked 0. This means that the statistical odds for this wheel differ to the American wheel as there are 37 spaces overall. You will find both of these versions available at online casinos, in live dealer format or in computer simulated format. French roulette is also offered at many locations, and this uses the European wheel, but some of the betting mat is written in French. After this, you will find a series of modern versions which are evolving and changing all the time. Two ball roulette and two-wheel roulette being some of the most modern incarnations of the game. Most players tend to prefer the more traditional versions, but you may well enjoy the newer ones too, so they are always worth trying. Generally, if you can find a versions of roulette at a land-based casino you will be able to play it at an online casino, and probably many more versions besides.
