William Sears Arrested For Carrying 5 Machetes in Times Square

William Sears, 26, once threatened President Trump and Hillary Clinton was wielding a machete in Times Square. He was tapping the machete against a metal pole and on the sidewalk on Broadway and West 43rd St. just before 5 p.m. on Thursday. Local police officers took chase. Officers told him to drop the weapon, he refused. An officer tried to taser, Sears in the back but it had no effect according to reports. Sears, took off throwing away two more machetes. He was taken into custody and was handcuffed two blocks away.  Sears, had three other machetes on him when he was arrested.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital for a psychiatric observation. According to his father “Bill is a very troubled young man. He’s been in and out of hospitals.”

Sears, is schizophrenic and has been missing since September from a group home in Ohio.

Sears has been on a federal radar after allegedly making threats during the United Nations General Assembly against Trump and Clinton.

Sears is charged with weapons possession, menacing and reckless endangerment.
