Burritos for $1 Next Week

Burritos for $1 Next Week

Oxido opens on February 19, is the perfect pit stop for shoppers, theatergoers and Bryant Park ice skating fans. The restaurant is celebrating big by offering $1 burritos and bowls (in-store only) on opening day!

Known for their “Made from Scratch, No Excuses” motto, Oxido is the brainchild of entrepreneurs Daihwan Choi and Shmilly Gruenstein who partnered with Chef Jesse Perez aka ‘El Jefe’. This second location (1450 Broadway with the entrance on West 41st Street) will offer midtown diners a modern and fresh approach to the South Texas home cooking that the chef grew up with – a wide variety of chili peppers, fresh produce, premium proteins, rich spices, and beans, all bold enough to stand on their own.

The menu includes Chef’s signature mains for their burrito, bowl or taco. Fan favorites include the Chicken Poblano marinated with Ancho peppers; Grilled Garlic Steak, grilled to perfection with touches of smoked dried chiles, toasted spices, with just the right amount of garlic; and an exciting vegetarian option like the Red Chile Mushrooms, an earthy and robust meat alternative with hints of heat and fresh herbs. And then there are Oxido’s not-to-be-missed sauces such as Suisa Sauce (a tangy tomatillo cream sauce with onion, sour cream, and subtle spice; and Smoked Jalapeño with roasted garlic and fire-roasted tomato. Similar to the menu at their Flatiron location, Oxido will eventually offer their breakfast taco menu; perfect for the midtown worker on the catering packages will also be available including El Jefe’s Taco Bar Combo, Burrito Bash and other delicious options for those who want to have a taco party, Oxido style!
