Legendary Grammy nominated songwriter, singer and best-selling author, Gary U.S. Bonds will be performing a special one-night only dinner and show Monday, Dec. 9, at the iconic Friars Club sharing music, memories and more!
Bonds has transcended decades (over 50 years) performing his timeless music. He is one of the few musicians who has not only worked consistently, but crossed music appeal demographics from standard rock’n’roll to country to rock hits. Bonds’ songs helped define “party music,” as well as inspiring and influencing a generation including Bruce Springsteen. Bonds’ musical collaboration with Springsteen and Steven Van Zandt resulted in Bonds’ Dedication and On the Line LPs with singles “This Little Girl Is Mine,” “Out of Work,” “Jolie Blon” and “Daddy’s Comin’ Home.”
Bonds’ string of other renowned tunes include: “Quarter To Three,” “New Orleans,” “School is Out/School is In,” “Dear Lady Twist,” “Twist,” “Twist Senora,” “Seven Day Weekend” as well as others.
Bonds’ autobiography By U.S. BONDS – That’s My Story, (co-written with Stephen Cooper) published in 2013 to rave reviews. The book, which went into its second worldwide printing, weaves together music history while providing some fascinating insights into Bonds’ music and life.
Joining the vibrant musical lineup are special guests Mark Leimbach, Laurie Anderson and Laurie Tobias, with Stephen Cooper hosting.
Founded in 1904, The Friars Club membership has been comprised of mostly comedians and other celebrities. The club is also famous for hosting its celebrity roasts.
