Bastille Day @ French Institute Alliance Français

NYC’s largest celebration of France’s national holiday. FIAF’s Bastille Day fête fills three blocks of the Upper East Side with French food, wine, fashion, music, dance, workshops, and more. Live music includes renowned French singer Gérard Chambre, Chloé Perrier & French Heart Jazz Band, Paris-based chanteuse Dahlia Dumont, and French Riviera band Les P’tites Ouvreuses. There will also be Joanna Wronska doing the can-can and feather dance, participatory art with French-Iranian performance artist Cocovan, miming by Cat Gasta, kids’ book workshops with Fly Away Books, champagne, wine, and chocolate tastings, the French Garden marketplace, and much more.

Champagne, Cocktail, and Jazz Party

Champagnes from Besserat de Bellefon, Delamotte, Laurent-Perrier, Michel Gonet, and Pol Roger, and cocktails from Giffard will be served along with treats from Jacques Torres Chocolate, Ladurée, and Maman Bakery. The Avalon Jazz Band will perform live music. Learn More | Buy Tickets

Summer in Provence Tasting

Côte d’Azur France Village

Côte d’Azur Village will spotlight the famed south-east region of France. Presented by the Côte d’Azur France Tourism Board, along with 20 partners from the region, the Village will offer visitors special travel deals, gifts, and activations courtesy of Fragonard Parfumeur, les P’tites Ouvreuses, and Hotels.com/Expedia Group.

Throughout the afternoon, FIAF will present live music and dance performances by acclaimed guest artists from France and New York.

Fly Away with Books Workshops 

1–4pm • Ages 4-10 • Free!
FIAF Library Booth, 60th Street, between Madison and Park Avenues

The FIAF Library will offer three playful and imaginative workshops for kids led by renowned French illustrators and authors. Workshops are presented in partnership with Fly Away with Books, a program of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy’s family program Kids Trail.

Gérard Chambre: Si on chantait l’Amour

FIAF Florence Gould Hall, 55 East 59th Street

Renowned French singer Gérard Chambre, with Eric Breton at the piano, will perform French songs made memorable by singers like Charles Trenet, Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Yves Montand, Charles Aznavour, Johnny Hallyday, and others whose voices left their mark on France and the world. Performance presented in partnership with Pierre Cardin.

Suzanna, co-owns and publishes the newspaper Times Square Chronicles or T2C. At one point a working actress, she has performed in numerous productions in film, TV, cabaret and theatre. She has performed at The New Orleans Jazz festival, The United Nations and Carnegie Hall. Currently she has a screenplay in the works, which she developed with her mentor and friend the late Arthur Herzog.
