Luke Perry rose to fame on “Beverly Hills, 90210”, has just died after suffering a massive stroke. He passed away this morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank. Mr. Perry was hospital last Wednesday morning after suffering the stroke at his Sherman Oaks, CA home and never recovered.
Luke began his career in the early ’80s in “Another World.” He became a household name and a teenage heartthrob on ‘90210.’ For 10 seasons he was Dylan McKay. Luke also was in the TV show “Oz,” “Jeremiah,” “Windfall,” “John from Cincinnati,” and “Body of Proof.” He currently had a supporting role CW’s hit show, “Riverdale”, as Archie’s dad. He had also filmed a role in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming Charles Manson movie, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” In addition Luke lent his voice to cartoons such as “Biker Mice from Mars,” “Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm,” “The Legend of Calamity Jane,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Pepper Ann,” “Pound Puppies” and many others.
A reboot of ‘90210’ was announced on Wednesday with the bulk of the original cast, but Luke had not signed on to be a regular on the series, but could not commit to more than that due to his “Riverdale” schedule.
He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiance Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends.
