Simple Style Tips for Your Summer Vacation

Simple Style Tips for Your Summer Vacation

When you’re on vacation, the last thing you want to be doing is worrying about how you look. Nor do you want to be trying to cram all your beauty products and clothes into your suitcase before you go. Instead, you want to focus on packing light and enjoying your break. Here are some super simple style tips to make sure you look and feel great, without having to pack the whole makeup counter.

Get Your Swimwear Right

The idea of stripping off on the beach is probably the part of a vacation that worries people the most. However, with so many different swimsuit styles available it couldn’t be easier to find something that suits and flatters your figure, while helping you to feel comfortable and confident on the beach. When choosing, think about what it is you’re going to be doing. A tiny bikini may be great for sunbathing but if you’re going to be running around with the kids or swimming, plus size tankini tops might make a safer option.

When it’s hot and you are spending a lot of time out in the sun and in the sea, your skin can dry out very quickly. This can easily lead to it becoming flaky, sore and red. To keep your skin looking fresh and bright, be sure to moisturize before bed every night. Swap your normal moisturizer for an after sun if you burn or your skin is particularly sensitive.

The most important beauty essential for any summer getaway is always sunscreen. Even if you think you don’t burn, or you’ve got naturally darker skin, the sun’s rays could be causing damage and you need to protect yourself.

Keep it Natural

If you’re out in the sun, a face full of heavy makeup can be uncomfortable and hot. Instead, opt for a more natural look. Either mix your foundation with a little moisturizer or wear a BB cream for lighter coverage. Try to wear as little eye make-up as you can and add a touch of lip gloss for a bit of glamour.

Look After Your Lips

Lips can be the first thing to suffer the effects of the sun, quickly becoming dry and chapped. Try a moisturizing gloss or balm to keep them soft. These are available with added SPF for extra protection.

Braids are the ideal hairstyle for the beach. They keep hair tidy and out of your face, help to avoid damage and breakages, and can easily be removed to leave you with the perfect beachy waves for your evening look. As there are so many styles of braids to try including Dutch, French, crown and fishtail you won’t be tied down to one style for your vacation.

Think Day to Night

Braids are great when it comes to changing a look from day chilling on the beach to a night out on the town, but there are many other ways to make this change easy. When you are packing, think of outfits that can easily be dressed up or down, such as maxi dresses or crop tops. This will save a lot of room in your suitcase, but also make getting ready less stressful and give you less to think about.

Drink Water

Moisturizer is great for helping your skin stay glowing and youthful, but drinking plenty of water will give it the extra hydration it needs. It’ll also help you to avoid bloating and reduce the risk of hangovers if you’re planning some late nights partying.

Statement Pieces

Try to pack a few statement pieces that go with any outfit and add glamour to any look. Some great statement pieces for a beach holiday include:

  • Maxi dresses or skirts
  • A light, bold colored jacket
  • Wedge shoes
  • Printed trousers
  • An oversized beach bag
  • Trendy sunglasses
  • Printed sneakers

Just a few of these key pieces can change and brighten even the most basic outfit.

Pack for Comfort

Yes, you want to look great, but you also want to be comfortable. Traveling can be hot and tiring, and you’ll want to do some sightseeing and exploring while you’re away. So, make sure you pack some comfy clothes. Think printed trousers and flip flops for the ultimate in stylish comfort.

At the end of the day, nothing looks better or sexier than a confident smile. So, let go and have some fun.

Remember, everyone on the beach is worried about how they look sometimes. Don’t let this ruin your break. Put a smile on your face and get out there and have fun. Make the most of your vacation and have a great time.
