Get Ready For Paris! The Show

It was April in Paris last week in New York City when French producer Gil Marsalla presented  his show, Formidable at the Lysee Francais De New York, to a sold out audience. The show starred Jules Grison who was  accompanied by Philippe Villa (musical director), Sophie Desvergnes (double bass), Benoit Pierron(percussions). Formidable plays tribute to the late great Charles Aznavour.

On  Oct 1, 2018 the World lost Aznavour, the beloved international singer. Known as the Frank Sinatra of France, he wrote over 800 songs, recorded more than 1,000 of them in French, English, German and Spanish and sold over 100 million records.

Jules Grison, is best know for his  role in the world famous musical, Romeo and Juliet. Mr Grison, has big shoes to fill singing the legendary Aznavour songs, but he wears the shoes well. With nostalgic photographic backdrop Jules captures the era of “Bohemia “ Paris as he does his own interpretations of the famous Aznavour songs such as “Le Temps, Jezebel”, and “She”. You don’t have to understand French to enjoy Formidable due to  Mr. Grison charm and talent.

Formidable follows the success of Piaf! The Show starring  internationally acclaimed Ann Carrere, where a million tickets were sold in more than 50 countries and a sold out performance at Carnegie Hall, Jan 2017.

On October 17, 2019 Gil Marsalla will present a brand new show in New York’s Town Hall,  highlighting the best repertoire of French music in the world: Paris! The Show. This spectacular evening is a vibrant  tribute to the greatest French songs of the post-war years, and exports the charm and the essence of Paris for the whole world to enjoy.
